Good solution: A fixed permanent bridge replacing 1 missing tooth anchored to healthy teeth on each side is a good solution and requires good maintenance and hygiene to last several years. Check with your dentist to discuss all options based on your overall oral health to determine the best solution for your individual needs.

See Prosthodontist: If you have the option based on bone and location, forget the bridge and go for the implant. Far superior and longer lasting treatment. Independent of other teeth and helps preserve existing bone. At 45 you need 50 years of service. Bridge would need to be replaced on average every 10-15 years. Once implant is placed, only the crown might require replacement, less frequently and for less.Good Luck

"Gold Standard": The permanent bridge is lost at a rate of about 3% after 5 years, 13% after 10 years and 30% after 15 years. The "gold standard" in replacing missing teeth today is dental implant.
