Vitreous changes: Floaters are common and usually due to a change in the protein composition of the vitreous (inside gel of the eye). Most eyemds do not recommend removal as the only way to "remove them" is with a laser procedure (has risks) or intraocular surgery (many more risks). Check with your eyemd that they are "just" floaters and not inflammation in the eye.

Three options: Three options: live with it, yag laser, and vitrectomy. You need an exam to establish that it is the floaters that are the cause of your concern. The yag laser is less common and useful sometimes. More likely for bad floaters is vitrectomy. Vitrectomy is generally safe and effective but has a few side effects. Cataract is most common and should be considered.
