Cough...: There are multiple reasons why you could be having a cough but I will mention the most common possibilities: upper respiratory tract infection if having also nasal congestion, fever, runny nose. If wheezing, trouble breathing and chest tightness bronchitis or pneumonia. Allergies, acid reflux are also very common reasons for cough especially if it is dry. We would need to know other symptoms.

Cough: I am glad you have tried to let it "run its course". However, if you have had a cough for two weeks it is probably tie to get checked.
