Depends on cause: The are numerous causes of chronic cough in children (reflux, asthma, allergies, infections, recurrent upper respiratory infections.) A pediatrician should be able to point you in the right direction as to the cause. May need some tests and a referral to the pulmonologist or allergist. It really depends on the history of the cough.
