Nexium (esomeprazole): Proton pump inhibitors (ie Nexium (esomeprazole) among others) are potent medications that nicely reduce stomach acid. H2 blocker (ie zantac) are also acid reducers but much less effective. Most patients find better relief with Nexium (esomeprazole) compared to zantac.
