Cough: Sometimes a cough may persist several weeks after the acute respiratory tract infection. This is often due to reactive airways and inflammation. Sometimes inhalers or steroids may help with this problem-- however, any cough persists should be brought to the attention of your physician.

Bronchitis and cough: Hi Frank, I am sorry to hear you still have a cough. Unfortunately, antibiotics are usually not helpful in treating bronchitis which is often caused by viruses. Cough can last quite a while. If you develop a fever and chills, go back to your doctor. Take care, Ethan Bindelglas
