I fell asleep with my arm above my head and woke up to it being completely numb and limp and couldnt move it. happened before. is this normal?

Pressure palsy: When asleep either your position or posture resulted in nerve compression at one or more areas, such as brachial plexus over shoulder and armpit, but maybe more distal such as elbow or wrist. If it reverses within 15-30 minutes, would not worry, but if persistent or repetitive, you could have a Hereditary Propensity to Pressure Palsies, and this may require neurological attention.
