What tests or procedures are used to determine, if meningiomas are benign or malignant?

A microscope.: Meningiomas have a very characteristic appearance on brain scans. If they are surgically removed, a pathologist will look at the tissue under a microscope to make the final diagnosis. Sometimes they don't require removal.
