Blocked Gland: It sounds like it might be a blocked or partially blocked salivary gland. When you chew food, it tries to release saliva and it can't so it backs up and you get the spot or bump. You should probably have a dentist check it out to be certain but i'd suspect they won't see anything since you won't be eating! you definitely want to have it checked if it hurts or increases in size or frequency.

Gland, infection etc: You need to have your dentist look at this. It could be a gland, stopped up salivary duct, infection or a host of other things. The only way to diagnose this is to have a professional look at it and help give you options on what it is and what can be done. If it is a problem you want to address it now and not let it go.
