Need a diagnosis: Tight muscle is not medical diagnosis. The doctor is describing entrapment (nerve trapped between a muscle and something else). This can be identified on a high quality MRI. Consult your doctor to see if an MRI can be done. see link: http://orthosurg.ucsf.edu/patient-care/divisions/sports-medicine/conditions/shoulder/impingement-syndrome/
