You Need A Plan: Treating severe anxiety and panic attacks requires a plan and an ongoing relationship with a psychiatrist who is prescribing your medication and providing therapy that will be helpful to you. Substituting one medication for another depends on the particular medication, the length of time that you have been taking it, the dosage and the overall treatment plan. Review the situation with your M.D.

Addictive Drugs: The medicines you mention are benzodiadepines, to be used only in the short term for anxiety. In the long term they are addictive and you need more drug to get the same effect. Please see a psychiatrist to work out a plan for your anxiety which should include an SSRI drug like Paxil (paroxetine) or Prozac, as well as counseling and therapy.
