I take diclofenac quite often (i have dysmenorrhea), but now in reading that uk has removed it from its markets because of its effects on heart?

Specific question?: all the anti inflammatory meds (motrin etc) will have warnings for side effects not limited to the heart. It is more for chronic daily use , if you are taking just a few days for your dysmenorrhea it is not without side effect potential but it is less. that said is they are taking off market you have to change to another drug. I recommend aleve (naproxen) (naprosyn) sparingly..GI, renal, BP AE also possibe

OK for you: At age 27, your concerns about ischemic heart risks from NSAID medications, unless you happen to have very high risk for heart attack - not to worry. NSAIDs should be used cautiously or avoided if one has high likelihood for ischemic cardiac events (over age 50, diabetes, prior ischemic cardiac event, tobacco use, high cholesterol, strong family history etc.). Hope that helps.
