Comfortable: And supportive. You can do the latter, if you switch your orthotic to the different shoes you will be ensured good support in all your footwear.

Orthotics: I usually have patients in two types of orthotics. The reason is due to my practice of podiatric sports med. They have one custom insert for thier workout or running shoe and another for their dress shoe. I recommmend a new balance type cross trainer for working out. Rockport for work or job activity if you suffer from painful flatfeet.

Orthotics: Switching the orthotics - whether they are custom or prefabricated - from shoe to shoe ensures they are there working for you. Different 'brands' do different things. See your podiatrist for the best advice with this . Good luck.
