Creatine likely safe: when taken in appropriate doses. Side effects including liver and kidney damage have been reported but not proven, according to WebMD. A safer way to obtain the desired results is high protein intake in the form of lean meats, fish, poultry and eggs. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!

Overall ok: There are no major dangerous issues with creatine, but need to drink plenty of water. Also there are no actual regulations of what is put into it, so there are many potential problems. Egg whites are pure protein, safest muscle building protein.

Waste of money: As far as we know this is safe.It can produce a temporary booste in performance but all that dissapears in his pee. In time he will realize it is a waste of money and that proper nutrition/rest and workouts make him stronger in the long term. Accept it as part of the macho phase, it will pass.
