for past two weeks had sharp pain on side in lower by hip. it come and goes, but today i started to get fever and pain stay there.

Bursitis: If you can press upon the outside of the hip and arouse pain this is probably femoral bursitis, which is inflammation of a space between skin and hip bone. There might be some redness & a sense of heat. Usually is not an infectious process and a cortisone injection can do wonders. Heat and rest are advised. If is infected need antibiotics and a culture to id the bacteria.
