I doubt dangerous: ... but it needs relatively urgent evaluation. The most worrisome thing would be some sort of infection in the hip, but pain should be more continuous and a fever present. X-rays, though, should be helpful as well as evaluating the co-existing shoulder and low back pain. See if you can get into your doctor today or tomorrow, or go to Urgent Care/ER today. Good wishes:)
