Discuss your concern: Discuss your concerns with the neurologist, cerebral palsy is more common after birth and if that was the case would have been picked in infancy and childhood.In adults you can have as complication of meningitis or encephalitis or some other CNS disease.It is unlikely that she has cerebral palsy and has not been picked uo on examination.Muscle hypertonia can be from other causes, talk to the neurolo.

Label bias : Cerebral palsy has been defined as a disorder of movement of movement & posture related to injury to the central nervous system from pregnancy to 3 y. It varies from very mild to major problems.Having a CP label doesn't change your kids needs or therapy. Most mild CP comes from normal preg/labor/del/infancy. Most have no clear cause after case review.Use the label if you wish.
