OTC if not serious: I'm guessing your daughter has a rash caused by a pollen allergy? If the rash is not too serious, an otc ointment cream containing hydrocortisone, or calamine lotion, may be helpful. If the rash is extensive, or the otc products don't work, you should book an appt w/ your health care provider. If your child is having difficulty breathing because of the allergy, please go to the E.R. Right away.

Cortisone may help: Otc Hydrocortisone 1% cream applied to the area may help get rid of the rash and help with itching. An aveeno oatmeal bath can be soothing. Other otc options include calamine lotion, caladryl, Benadryl (diphenhydramine) gel/spray. Oral benasdryl/zyrtec can help for sneezing/itching. If severe or worsening, see your doctor. Occasionally, oral steroids may be needed for rashes like poison ivy.
