Turbinates: Inside the nose are the inferior, middle, and superior turbinates, which humidify and heat the air we breathe through our noses. The inferior or lower turbinates tend to fill with blood and get enlarged/ congested, when we lay down. Often, the nasal septum is also shifted to the side of congestion(left for you) further narrowing the nasal passage which gets worse when you recline. See an ENT doc.
