A member asked:

Hiv eia 17 days (-ve), hiv rna pcr 33 days (-ve). hiv chemiluminescence (-ve) after 14 months. after that can spitting blood be caused by hiv?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not likely: If you are spitting blood something quite serious is going on, but it is not likely due to HIV infection. If you had aids due to HIV (and this would be far too early even if you were infected, which you are not), then some of the opportunistic infections or tumors due to immune suppression might cause hemoptysis (blood in sputum). Go see a doctor.
