Peripheral nerves: Neuropathy describes dysfunction of the peripheral nerves, which can include pain, numbness and/or weakness. This can affect any nerve outside the brain and spinal cord.

Vague Question: Neuropathy is a term that is used to described a burning/aching nerve related pain usually in the extremities due to a variety of causes including, but not limited to vitamin B12 deficiency, iron deficiency anemia, exposure to toxic chemicals, diabetes, chronic failed low back syndrome/spinal stenosis and other unkown causes that we refer to as idiopathic. Neuropathy typically does not "spread".
