PVD or Vitreous Heme: Two possibilities are: 1) a posterior vitreous detachment, an age related separation of the vitreous gel from the retina. Especially if you also experienced flashes of light with the new floater. 2) vitreous hemorrhage, especially if you have a history of diabetic retinopathy. You should see your eye md as soon as possible for a dilated retinal exam to rule out an associated retinal tear or pdr.

A small Illuminescent pen tip floater appears in my eye for a second or two and then dissipates, is this a floater or what else could it be? Its not like the clear floaters or black stringy floaters that occur?
Should I be concerned about these eye floaters? Is there any food I can eat to help? They are just annoying but not causing any issues.
