See optometrist: You should see an optometrist or ophthalmologist regarding floaters if you have never been told they are benign. There are pathological causes of floaters, such as diabetes, retinal detachments, etc, but the majority are benign. I would NOT assume they are benign without an Eye Dr telling you so, Sometimes floaters can be a warning sign of retinal disease so be sure to have your eyes checked!
