A member asked:

What type of medications are used to treat familial tremor and what are usual side effects?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Here are a few: Inderal, and other beta-blockers, effective, but cause cognitive clouding, fainting due to decreased blood pressure and slowing pulse, depression, asthmatic attacks, exercise intolerance, fatigue. Xanax, (alprazolam) less sedation, but habit forming, and minimally effective, must use several times daily. Primidone, works well, but drowsiness, fatigue, asthenia, lassitude, dizziness and need to take frequent.
