No: Methotrexate does not cause cataracts but Prednisone does. Have you taken Prednisone for your ra?

No: The fda package insert does not report cataract as a side effect of mtx. Patients with RA can get inflammation in the eye which can cause a cataract. Steroids used to treat inflammation of the body and eye can also cause cataracts.
