200: A blood glucose reading above 200 mg/dl under any circumstances (fasting or after eating) is considered diabetes mellitus. There are different criteria in fasting state and 2 hours after eating. Hba1c reading 6.5% or more is also considered diabetes.

Blood sugars: Blood sugar of > 125 mg/dl fasting or > 199 mg/dl 2-hours after eating is suggestive of diabetes. However, these blood sugars are based on lab values, not home glucometer testing. If your home tests are suggestive of diabetes, please contact your doctor for more appropriate diagnostic testing, which will include a hba1c as well.
