Not normal: This obviously is not normal. He needs a full evaluation from both physical and behavioral standpoints. For instance, is he hearing ok. If there is nothing physically wrong, one has to entertain the possibility of developmental speech delays, of which there are different causes. A developmental pediatrician and a pediatric speech/language pathologist can help you out there.

Speech pathologist: Take your child to speech pathologist or talk to his pediatrician. Many things could cause it, including lead poisoning.
