Muscle spasms : You may have neck nerve root irritation that makes your muscles going into spasm. This will make the muscles of the shoulder girdle very tight and especially for spreading of the arm pit. Please see the family dr. And also a rehabilitation medicine specialist.

Evaluation: There are some important structures in this area including large blood vessels supplying the entire upper extremity as well as the brachial plexus (large nerve complex) that supplies all the innervation to the upper extremity. I would have this evaluated by a physician. It's hard to know if it's muscular, vascular or neurological without an exam.
