Short term memory : Unfortunately, a majority of patients suffer short term memory problems related to sah. Long term memory usually remains intact. No good solution to problem.

Practice: First of all you have to make sure the shunt is working properly. Sometimes shunt failure can present with symptoms of reduced mentation including memory problems. Once it's established that shunt is working all you can do is practice improving your memory, do puzzles and keep your mind occupied with meaningful things such as reading rather than mindless things like watching tv.

Family practice : You were one of the lucky people that actually survived a subarachnoid hemorrhage. Pt and speech therapy can help cognitive function memory will just take time. There may be some permanent memory loss and difficulty doing things you actually were talented at. I hope you may continue to improve.

Mental exercise : Daily mental exercise. Learning another language, solving mathematical problems, saduku, etc. Shunt reevaluation will eliminate reversible courses. Does it function?
