PF syndrome: This is not uncommon for women. Women's anatomy is such the it often leads to patellofemoral syndrome. Conservative measures to start would be to have physical therapy for quad strengthening exercises. If that doesn't work, you may need surgery for a lateral release (only in a small subset of patients), tibial tubercle osteotomy or femoral rotational osteotomies. Surgery is not often needed.
