Heart rate: Consistent aerobic exercise for at least 45minutes a day can lower resting rate by a beat a minute a month on the average to the levels you target. But it must be consistent and the intensity and duration adequate.

Exercise : Best way to reduce heart rate is sustained aerobic exercise. Most marathon runner have very low heart rates!

Exercise guidelines: Heart rate below 60 beats/min is not normal and that should not be your goal. Please read the recommendations of the american heart association as to how to exercise properly and regularly. A pulse meter will be useful to monitor the pulse when you exercise.

Aerobic exercise: Marathon runners have low resting heart rate. However you can reduce you resting heart rate by doing increasingly vigorous aerobic exercise, at least 30 minutes each day.
