See doctor...: Possible etiologies of chronic cough include bronchospasm from any etiology, gerd, post-nasal drip or even a combination of factors. The associated shortness of breath makes bronchospasm a good possibility. Treatment of this typically includes bronchodilator and steroid inhalers. The pain will improve once the cough is controlled. You need to see your doctor for diagnosis and treatment asap.
