Can take 2 weeks: Bilateral ear infections are no fun and it can take time to recover. If you are having worsening symptoms, discharge, loss of hearing, see and ENT for further evaluation. If you are otherwise healthy, no history of diabetes, no other symptoms and all is getting better, it can take a couple of weeks to get better. When in doubt though call your md to be sure.

What's closed?: Colds are typically viral in nature & don't respond to antibiotics. There's a movement afoot not to treat ear infections w/antibiotics either but since you've finished 7 out of 10 days, better to finish your complete course. If you stop now, your risk for resistance increases dramatically. So i'm glad pain is subsiding but it won't go away completely just like that. It takes time. What's closed?
