Im 30 and have a double ear infection. i was taking 500 mg amoxicillin twice a day for 5 days and my ears were still hurting. just started taking it 3 times a day at 8 hrs intervals yesterday. do you think this should help heal it better?

I'm unclear as to what a double ear infection is. Both ear drums? One ear drum combined with an ear canal infection. In adults some associated eustachian tube dysfunction or obstruction may be present. Therefore for adults with otitis media I recommend high dose amoxicillin or, preferably the more potent augmentin& decongestant as needed . Discuss with your physician or consult an ENT specialist
