Germ dead vs ear fix: Your antibiotic treatment is designed to kill the germs that entered the middle ear space. They began to feast on the sugar/protein & water that was trapped when your eustachian tubes didn't drain well & created the pressure of the original infection. After the germs are dead, the inflammation goes down & hopefully your eustachian tubes will drain. It can take another 6 weeks in a kid less for adult.
