I favor latter: I think the pregnancy is more likely responsible but that is just a guess.

Both are possible: But the latter is more likely. Metrogel can be helpful for true rosacea, but check with your OB to see if it's recommended during pregnancy, even if topical. Should not be used 1st trimester; during 2nd or 3rd trimesters fetal harm is "possible but unlikely, " according to drug mfr. I'd wait till after your delivery and treat if bothersome. Some call this "the glow of pregnancy.".
