A member asked:

I am a gastro patient and am on regular intake of lanzoprazole 30 mg twice a day for the last 2 years. is there any issue taking it for long time?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: Long term ppi's can cause issues with GI infections, malabsorption of magnesium & calcium and strophic gastritis. These risks might be acceptable compared with the risk of stopping it due to your surgery. Talk to your doc about changing to a lower dose or perhaps stopping it.
