Viral eruption: This can be a viral skin eruption from the "cold". He can also have a secondary bacterial pink eye and you should see an ophthalmologist if it persists for several days.

Why does my baby have gooey eyes?

Blocked tear ducts: It is possible your baby has blocked tear ducts. To help these clear you can massage between the eye and nose on each side. This can help open up the tear duct and allow the tears to drain more effectively. The goopiness will go away in a few weeks or months. In the meantime use warm washcloths to clean. If the white part of the eye gets red or the discharge increases see your pediatrician.

Wide nasal bridge: Most babies look cross eyed because of their wide nasal bridges. This is called pseudoesotropia. True cross eyes can be determined by shining a light at the baby and observing if the light appears equally on both pupils.

More info: "chicken bumps" are more commonly seen on the arms and legs and do well with cod liver oil (orally). On the face...Depends on the age. If a newborn is one thing. Older children i would want to see the rash before offering suggestions. In general there is a great cream..Called schmoove. Can be ordered from maker. Check it out at www.Franzcenter.Com under herbaceuticals.

These days my wife is seeing flashes in one eye occasionally.?

See an eye doctor: Most of the time, flashes of light are related either to floaters (changes to the gel that fills the back of the eye), our less commonly migraines. If the flashes last for more than a day, or if there is a decrease in vision as well, see an eye doctor right away.
