Therapy+meds: For ocd, cognitive behavioral therapy is usually considered as the treatment of choice. Combination of cbt and medications usually works the best. Dosage of Celexa (citalopram) should be higher than used for treatment of depression, eg. 60mg.Thanks.

Definitely!: First, ssri's like Celexa (citalopram) haven't usually offered much benefit in treating hair-pulling ( trichotillomania) or skin-picking (dermatotillomania), which we view as impulse control disorders. Ongoing cognitive- behavioral therapy is probably a more effective treatment than medication, although there is nothing wrong with using both at once.
