Use protection!: The light with welding can be very intense and can cause thermal and photochemical damage to the eyes which can be permanent. You're probably ok, but i would strongly advise you to get checked out by an eye md (ophthalmologist) and to use a special welding mask from now on.

Corneal burn: The welding flash has resulted in corneal burn. Articicial tears may reduce the symptoms. If persistent greater than 24 hrs seek medical attention. Keeping the eys closed will accelerate healing.

Flash burns: You should wear protective eye wear when welding. It you have irritation and it is mild, you can try preservative free artificial tears (bion tears, thera tears, systane, and systane gel, etc.) one drop up to every 30-60 minutes. If worse or not getting better, you need to be seen by an eye specialist, to ensure not foreign bodies or infection developing, that could cause permanent vision loss.

High energy flash ke: Newer welding tools use high uv emiting methods. You can sustane asuperfiicial burn of the cornea that is miserable and can take uo to 48 hours to truly heal. You need to be sure that there are no foreign bodies that flew in from the welding applications.
