SEE A GI SPECIALIST: You may have an esophageal ulcer or a stricture . Do you smoke cigarettes and or drink alcohol? Then you might have a more serious problem--a tumor. Concerned: You need an evaluation by a gastroenterologist. Food getting stuck is seen in several diseases. A common one would be zinker's web. It is a cartilege like band that partially obstructs the esophagus. It can lead to food getting stuck. It can also be a symptom from esophageal achalasia.
