Mercury poisoning?: Some healthcare providers feel strongly that dental amalgam is a source of mercury poisoning such that there's a small cottage industry pulling out amalgam and replacing it with some other supposedly inert material. I have not stumbled upon any randomized controlled trials demonstrating that this is indeed the case.

Problem for DDS : The removal of silver mercury amalgam from teeth really poses an issue for the dental team, not the patient! dentists are exposed to it all day long! however, I have yet to see a modern study showing the effects of mixing amalgam or removal on a dentist. On the other-hand, maybe that is why I am going bald!
