Needs reevaluation: Assuming that your child was examined and antibiotic treatment was initiated, any new development prompts reevaluation. If the child has not been seen and been taking left over antibiotics, you are taking risk.

Get checked ASAP: While it might be viral it could be a bacterial infection which can damage the joint unless treated asap.
