Normal variation: The temperature of the body is a fluctuating number but usually kept in a very tight range to allow biochemical actions to occur and keep us healthy. There are structures in the brain that regulate temperature along with hormones in the body like thyroid hormone. If you are a healthy individual, expect your temperature to be in that fluctuating range of 98 +/- a degree or so. >100.5=fever.
