A member asked:

I have chiari malformation type 1. mri shows loss of cervical lordosis and disc herniation at c5-c6. is this connected?

Chiari and HNP: No. They are unrelated. In the cervical spine, chiari is most commonly associated with a collection of fluid within the cord called a syrinx. A herniated disc is a completely unrelated problem and can be treated completely separately.

No: Disk problems are not associated with the chari 1 malformation.

Not likely: These are likely separate problems. Fortunately, both are treatable. Best of luck. Check out spine-health.Com.
