A member asked:

Will i compromise my full tummy tuck with muscle repair results by using crutches following my acl surgery two weeks later?

Physical Therapy: After acl repair it is very helpful to see a physical therapist to aid in the recovery period. A physical therapist might also be able to help provide support, exercise suggestion that would be good for the abdominal muscles as well. I hope this helps.

Yes!: Separate the procedures. If you are doing the tummy tuck first 6 weeks would be the minimum and more may be better in some situations.

Not a Fan: I am not a fan of your plan. Imagine for example, you are ambulating with crutches and have a muscle spasm of the abdominal wall; next thing that will happen is you will fall potentially damaging the abdominal wall work as well as the acl repair. Consider spacing out the procedures much more. Best wishes.

Yes: It is not a good idea to have heavy surgeries back to back without fully recovering from one first. You should not compromise the result of one for the other.

Bad idea: You should be fully recovered from any surgery before undergoing another surgery. Two weeks is not enough time to recover from your tummy tuck.
