is lower back pain common after inguinal hernia surgery? how long can that last?

Unusual: I haven't had many patients complain of back pain after inguinal hernia surgery. It may have been due to the positioning during surgery. Some clinics will do hernia surgery under an epidural anethesia and this can cause back pain. See your surgeon and discuss your pain with him.
