It depends : Other than pain, cancer in the bones can potentially cause pathologic fractures ( fractures that wouldn't occur in normal bones) that usually cannot heal without an intevention. Cancer in the spinal bone can potentially cause irritation to the spinal neves and possible serious spinal cord compression especially if a fracture occurs in the spinal bones.
