Dr. Alissa Zenack
Pediatrics 24 years experience
Reculture for strep: Your doctor should recheck her throat culture after completing her current course of antibiotics. If that test is positive with no symptoms, your child should be treated with a special antibiotic to treat the carrier state. Family contacts should be checked regardless of lack of symptoms. If your child is in daycare, you may want to mention it to the director to alert parents of this issue.
Created for people with ongoing healthcare needs but benefits everyone.
