Ibuprofen or tylenol (acetaminophen): Its important to identify the actual cause of the pain. Generally, Ibuprofen is an excellent over the counter pain killer for tooth pain, usually better than tylenol (acetaminophen). If you have a swelling of any kind you should seek professional attention as you may have an abscess which could be serious. Only take these drugs if it's safe for you. Warm salt water rinse will also help. Wish you all the best.

Tooth. Ache: See you dentist why waite, the longer you waite the worse the pain and caries get worse, nothing i dislike when dentists tell their patients lets wait and see , the more you waite the more you will see fix it early on that will save you pain and $$$.

Depends: Very broad question. See a dentist for a proper diagnosis and treatment. Until you can see a dentist, try taking an otc analgesic like advil, tylenol (acetaminophen) or aspirin. Follow label instructions.
